STATUATORY ASSESSMENTS

The Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) takes place in June for children in Year 4. Its purpose is to check how confidently and fluently children can recall their multiplication facts up to 12 × 12 — an important foundation for further learning in mathematics. The check also helps teachers identify children who may benefit from additional support with their times tables.
